THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL

On August 13, 1961, the Communist government of the German Democratic Republic (GDR, or East Germany) began to build a barbed wire and concrete “Antifascistischer Schutzwall,” or “antifascist bulwark,” between East and West Berlin. The official purpose of this Berlin Wall was to keep Western “fascists” from entering East Germany and undermining the socialist state, but it primarily served the objective of stemming mass defections from East to West. The Berlin Wall stood until November 9, 1989, when the head of the East German Communist Party announced that citizens of the GDR could cross the border whenever they pleased. That night, ecstatic crowds swarmed the wall. Some crossed freely into West Berlin, while others brought hammers and picks and began to chip away at the wall itself. To this day, the Berlin Wall remains one of the most powerful and enduring symbols of the Cold War and fragments of the wall can be  seen in different places around the world like London, New York and many more.

Kris Jenner Seen In A Party With Corey Gamble

To celebrate her 59th birthday on Friday, Kris Jenner headed to Las Vegas and proceeded to sip vodka, dance with her new squeeze, Corey Gamble, and celebrate in style.

And it's safe to say, she is loving life as a single woman.

"It's definitely different. It's kind of crazy," she said of looking for new love "in a very good way."

Linked to Gamble since October, Jenner talked to PEOPLE about jumping back into the dating scene since Filing for divorce from Bruce Jenner in September. "I think it's a process and I think that it's definitely something that I hold very privately to myself," she said.

Following dinner at Sin City's Stack, the matriarch of the Kardashian clan partied in a VIP booth at Mirage's 1 OAK, drinking 50 Bleu vodka and listening to the sounds of deejay Ikon. Her focus, though, was clearly on Gamble, who danced with Jenner throughout the night.

Jenner, who looked happy and energetic in her Monique Lhuillier dress, also revealed her favorite birthday gift – courtesy of daughter Kourtney.

"Kourtney kind of knocked it out of the ballpark this year," Jenner said. "She got me an amazing, one-of-a-kind Chanel bag that I love. But I'm looking forward to her Giving birth in a month, so that's the biggest present of all."

To say Jenner is enjoying grandmother-hood is an understatement.

"I didn't know what to expect when I had my first, but now that I'm having my fourth I'm so excited," she said of her grandchildren, including Kim daughter, North West.

"I live with North, so I've been able to watch her come home from the hospital at literally 4 pounds," she continued. "They grow into this beautiful human being with this amazing personality, so I'm looking forward to doing that all over again."  I am loving this two.

Jennifer Lopez Talks On Relationship

Jennifer Lopez finally admits her diva ways and enormous entourage could have hurt her famous romances reports The New York Post. The singer blamed the failure of her relationships with Ben Affleck and husband Marc Anthony partly on her omnipresent army of handlers and hair and makeup stylists.
Jennifer Lopez, 45, opened up to Hoda Kotb about her book, “True Love,” at New York’s 92nd Street Y. When asked what might have gone wrong in past relationships, she responded, “There’s a lot of people in my life and that’s hard. There’s people in the house. There’s hair and makeup. It’s a lot, I think, for someone to deal with.” Jenny From the Block famously travels with a huge crew that includes her manager Benny Medina and a cadre of stylists and handlers, as well as her trainer, Tracy Anderson.
Lopez also told Kotb about the pressure of fame, “Forget about all the outside stuff, being judged, being under scrutiny in the relationship . . . I guess that adds in . . . but I think they would say that [the entourage] was a big part of their discomfort, if there was any.”
She admitted she’s in therapy: “You have to work on yourself . . . It’s not talking to yourself in the bathroom, it’s finding out what’s really going on, digging down into the gooey, messy stuff . . . You have to face yourself sometimes, like OK, ¬seriously, everything is not going perfect, what are you doing wrong? Me, not you, me.”

TAYLOR SWIFT NOT TAKING SPOTIFY BACK

While some artists could pull their catalogs from Spotify without a ton of backlash, when Taylor Swift did it upon the release of her immensely successful 1989, the streaming service responded with a “please take me back” letter that, in Swift talk, was somewhere between “Back to December” and “Mean.
But that plea didn’t seem to work on Taylor. In a new interview with Yahoo, the singer defended her decision to pull her music from the streaming service, saying she’s not keen on the idea of doling out art for free.
“If I had streamed the new album, it’s impossible to try to speculate what would have happened. But all I can say is that music is changing so quickly, and the landscape of the music industry itself is changing so quickly, that everything new, like Spotify, all feels to me a bit like a grand experiment,” she said. “And I’m not wiling to contribute my life’s work to an experiment that I don’t feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists, and creators of this music.”
Swift expressed similar sentiments in a lengthy Wall Street Journal op-ed
earlier this year. In that piece, she emphasized that music, as art, is valuable, and that “valuable things should be paid for.
“And I just don’t agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free,” she told Yahoo. “A lot of people were suggesting to me that I try putting new music on Spotify with “Shake It Off,” and so I was open-minded about it. I thought, ‘I will try this; I’ll see how it feels.’ It didn’t feel right to me. I felt like I was saying to my fans, ‘If you create music someday, if you create a painting someday, someone can just walk into a museum, take it off the wall, rip off a corner off it, and it’s theirs now and they don’t have to pay for it.’ I didn’t like the perception that it was putting forth. And so I decided to change the way I was doing things.”
Sounds like Spotify’s going to have to step up their apology game if they want Tay back. Perhaps an album in her

Selena Gomez Addresses Justin Bieber

In New Music Video

Speaking with Ryan Seacrest, Selena Gomez discussed the video for "The Heart Wants What It Wants," and its connection to Justin Bieber.
"Everybody wants to form their own opinions anyway. I think the biggest problem I had this year -- even with [Justin] and on his side -- is identity,” she said about her back-and-forth relationship. “I was trying to figure out what I’m doing, and that was the first time I was constantly being kicked down for doing that. When I didn’t know, I just wanted to say, ‘This is what I want, this is where I am in my professional life, things changed in my personal life, things changed in my heart -- everything.’ And people just thought, ‘Alright, this is what we think.’ And yeah, I made some decisions that weren’t great as well, and so did he and that’s why we went through all that to only make us better. And he has heard [the song] and he has seen the video, and it’s something that I feel like girls need hear, and it’s something I’m willing to share with people.”

Selena Gomez never says her new single, "The Heart Wants What It Wants," is about her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber. But the pair did reportedly split up for the umpteenth time back in October, and "The Heart Wants What It Wants" acts as a fairly good anthem for those going through heartbreak. Here's the spoken-word introduction, said by Gomez through tears: "When I was on stage and I was thinking of ... I felt like I know him, though, and I know his heart, and I know what he wouldn't do to hurt me. But I didn't realize that feeling so confident and feeling so great about myself and then it just be completely shattered by one thing. By something so stupid. But then you make me feel crazy. You make me feel like it's my fault. I was in pain." I hope it goes well lol.

DYING WITH DIGNITY

Brittany Maynard, the 29-year-old who said she had terminal brain cancer, took medication to end her life under Oregon's "Death with Dignity Act," advocacy group Compassion & Choices said Sunday.
"Brittany chose to make a well thought out and informed choice to Die With Dignity in the face of such a terrible, painful, and incurable illness," a post on her website said. "She moved to Oregon to pass away in a little yellow house she picked out in the beautiful city of Portland."
In a statement, Compassion & Choices, an end-of-life choice advocacy group that has been working closely with Maynard, said she "died as she intended -- peacefully in her bedroom, in the arms of her loved ones."

The epitaph contained a final message from Maynard, who expressed a note of deep thanks to all of her supporters, whom she "sought out like water" during her life and illness.Maynard passed away Saturday, said the group, which released an official obituary.
"It is people who pause to appreciate life and give thanks who are happiest. If we change our thoughts, we change our world! Love and peace to you all," she said.
Maynard graduated from University of California, Berkeley, and earned a Masters in Education from University of California, Irvine, according to the obituary. She was a world traveler who volunteered at a local animal rescue organization before her diagnosis and lived 29 years of "generosity, compassion, education, travel, and humor," it said.
Maynard is survived by her husband and his family, her mother and stepfather.
"While she had longed for children of her own, she left this world with zero regrets on time spent, places been, or people she loved in her 29 years," the obituary said.
She became a prominent spokeswoman for the "death with dignity" movement, which advocates that terminally ill patients be allowed to receive medication that will let them die on their own terms. She also became a lightning rod for criticism from people who oppose that approach I quickly decided that death with dignity was the best option for me and my family," Maynard wrote in an opinion explaining her choice. "We had to uproot from California to Oregon, because Oregon is one of only five states where death with dignity is authorized.
Maynard said she hadn't yet decided when she would end her life.
"I still feel good enough, and I still have enough joy, and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn't seem like the right time right now. But it will come, because I feel myself getting sicker. It's happening each week," Maynard said in the video, which was produced by Compassion & Choices and released  last Wednesday.
Maynard said she had stage IV glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of terminal brain cancer.
When she first started speaking out about her decision, Maynard said that in early November she planned to take the medication she'd been prescribed. In her latest video, she said she was waiting to see how her symptoms progress before deciding on a date.
But taking too long to make that choice was one of her greatest fears, Maynard said.

"The worst thing that could happen to me is that I wait too long because I'm trying to seize each day," she says, "but I somehow have my autonomy taken away from me by my disease, because of the nature of my cancer."
